Self-Maintenance Engineering Changes (Field Change Orders)
The non-contract/non-warranty customer will be charged for all
FCO kits with the exception of the "S" coded Product
Safety FCOs. The matrix below summarized the material charging
for each code.

FCO Category and Description

PRODUCT SAFETY - A FCO issued to reduce or eliminate a
potential risk of a personal injury or substantial
property damage. |

PRODUCT OPERATION - A FCO issued to reduce or eliminate
an imminent risk of significant product degradation and/or
abnormal failure(s). |
F |
PRODUCT FUNCTIONALITY - A FCO issued to reduce or
eliminate the risk of loss or degradation of a specific function
within a product, or to restore a product to its
original level of functionality or performance. |
I |
PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT - A FCO issued to make a product
compliant with new Compaq and/or industry standards, or
to expand product compatibility. |
