Fast, quality printing. The LNM40 Laser Printer prints at up to 40 pages per minute at resolutions of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi to handle the most demanding departmental needs. The printer also features Adobe® PostScript® 3 as standard for faster printing of complex documents.
Powerful processing. Standard features on the LNM40 include a powerful 166 MHz RISC processor, advanced controller architecture, 32 MB memory (upgradeable to 96 MB), standard 600 x 600 dpi resolution (up to 1200 x 1200), PCL® 5e, IEEE 1284 parallel interface, and Ethernet 10/100BaseT and 10Base2 connectivity.
Sophisticated printer management. Included in the LNM40 is Remote Control Print Management Software--a graphical network-monitoring tool designed to allow system/network administrators to remotely monitor and manage any SNMP-based printer across a TCP/IP network. This includes the ability to monitor printer activity, change printer settings, perform firmware upgrades, control configurations, log errors, and check consumable levels.
Fully supported in multiple environments. The LNM40 is fully supported in OpenVMS VAX and Alpha, Tru64 UNIX, Windows and Windows NT. For VMS environments, as well as PC and Macintosh systems, DECprint Supervisor (DCPS v1.7-1) software supports many applications and printers from multiple vendors. DCPS automatically detects multiple printer languages and translates them to PostScript. DCPS also increases desktop printer control, adds sophisticated output features and promotes greater user productivity.
Web-based user management. Every printer can be accessed by its own World Wide Web address, through which users can find printers on the network, track status of the printer and jobs, and check consumable levels.
Multiple paper-handling options. The LNM40 can print on letter, legal, and ledger sizes, plus A3, A4, A5, B4, B5, 8.5 x 13-inch, 11 x 17-inch, statement, universal, and executive formats. The LNM40 also handles DL, C5, Com 10, and Monarch envelopes.
The base printer comes with two 500-sheet trays and a 50-sheet bypass feeder.
The standard output bin automatically collates and offsets up to 500 pages.
Low total cost of ownership. The robust engine can handle a duty cycle of 150,000 pages per month. A variable economy toner saver print mode saves toner usage while maintaining print quality.
