I've tried upgrading the firmware on four DEFTA-FA cards,
all bought at the same time, and it has failed on two
of those cards. In all 4 cases, the card started out
as V1.1 and was going to V2.4A. I am using [turbochannel]tc_v1_6.exe
off CD-ROM or tc_v1_6.btp via bootp.
The 4 machines are:
1. DEC AXP 3000 model 600 with PMAGD-CA Graphics,
J300 card, CD-ROM boot. The update worked.
2. DEC AXP 3000 model 600 with PMAGC-AA Graphics,
J300 card, bootp boot. The update worked.
3. DEC AXP 3000 model 600 with PMAGB-BA Graphics,
J300 card, bootp boot. The update failed when
doing the flash burn.
4. DEC AXP 3000 model 300 with built-in HX Graphics,
LoFi card, bootp boot. The update failed when
doing the flash burn.
Oh, and all 4 machines have the 6.0 firmware and all
the additional option cards were updated to the tc_v1_6
firmware levels as well.
