Thanks to everyone who replied. The problem seems to have
been corrected by editing the xdm-config file and renaming /sbin/swapdefault

ORIGINAL POST
Hi. I am managing a DEC 3000 workstation running the GCG
DNA sequence analysis software for a medical school. I am new
to system management. We are running OSF v2.1. I have been using
the freeware program SWAPSTATUS to monitor the amount of swapspace
available and notice that it slowly decays from 83% free down to
about 30% free after a few days of multiple users being logged
on and running the software.

Is this usual? Do I need to reconfigure something.
We have 128MB of swap mounted on rzz2b. My approach has been to
regularly reboot the machine

Thanks for any replies
