Hello!
We received yesterday a new DEC AN3 ATM switch but we are not able to
make any PVCs to workstations connected to other vendor's ATM switches.
The hardware we use is:
- - two DEC 3000 AXP workstations (called delta and decus95) with new ATM
TurboChannel adapters
- - AN3 ATM switch (name gigasw)
- - Cisco A100 ATM switch
- - other switches and workstions connected to Cisco A100
The workstations are connected to AN3 which is in turn connected to
Cisco A100. The two workstations are able to communicate with
each other through the AN3 but we can not send or receive anything
from the workstations which are connected to our ATM network by A100.
Below is the configuration files we use.
% cat /etc/atmhosts
#
# This file contains the mapping between ATM addresses and host names.
# ATM addresses are 20 byte values represented here by a string of fourty
# hexidecimal digits. No separators or non-hex characters are allowed.
# ESI's can also be specified as a string of twelve hexidecimal digits.
# Each address has one or more associated host name.

The configuaration on AN3:

118 PVC ABR ( 0 Mbps) 1: 2: 118 82
Continue to Display Circuits for other ports, y or n (y)?:
VCIs on Linecard 1 and Port 2:

118 PVC ABR ( 0 Mbps) 1: 1: 118 1798

117 PVC ABR ( 0 Mbps) 1: 1: 117 2434
How can we create a PVC connections from the DEC
workstations to the worksations which are connected to Cisco A100 (and other
ATM switches)?
We should have a demo tomorrow on DECUS Finland's annual meeting
demonstrating DEC's ATM technology. Thanks in advance,
