Multimedia services for DEC OSF1 (Runtime) Version 1.5 - MME150
from the April layered products cd.
Hello all,
I'm having a problem installing the runtime version of the Multimedia
Services kit from the April layered products cd.
I build the machine from scratch from the OSF1/v3.0 disk installed the
various licenses and installed software from the layered products cd.
When I tried to install the MMS software the installation script had me
build a new kernel and install it. Kernel built fine. I then went back and
ran the installation verification program on MME150. The audio segment
wouldn't run because it couldn't find an audio device. It failed with an
ERROR: Exiting did not find any devices.
The video segment ran fine.
I also noticed the following:
When I build the machine from the OSF cd, before installing the
Multimedia services and the sound kernel was built, the system would find the audio device. It would show up as:audio device would
msb0 at isa0
However, after installing the Multilmedia services kit and then building
a new kernel, which I then installed the system would report the following:
msb0
Warning sound board in system configuration, but not present.
msb0 not probed.
Anyone have any idea what is going on here? The device shows up at the boot
level via show config and isacfg -all and seems to be configured properly.
I'm lost, help!
