vxt2000+ Xterminal under {DEC OSF/1,Digital Unix} 3.0

Hello,
I have the following problem with a VXT2000+ Xterminal, using vxt2.1
software, under {DEC OSF/1,Digital Unix} v. 3.0.

I configured it to connect via TCP/IP to the workstation, but get the
following error messages in the /var/X11/xdm/xdm-errors file:

Creating DECnet socket: Protocol not supported

fatal IO error 60 (Connection timed out)

Hung in XOpenDisplay (name:0) aborting
server open failed for name:0 giving up

Display cannot be opened
Display is being disabled

where name is the name of the Xterminal.

The first message is especially annoying since I specifically set up the
connection as TCP/IP--so there shouldn't be any reason it should ask
for DECnet. Has anybody set up an Xterminal vxt2000+ successfully?
What am I missing?

Thanks in advance
Stam Nicolis
