printing problems

Hello osf!

I've got a 2100 4/200 server with the following problem.

When trying to print we get the following response:
>lpr -Php4 xxx
no daemon present
print job spooled

>lpq -Php4
no daemon present
...

How do I get the lpd daemon to start again?

Any help, suggestions, or directions are always appreciated.
