I was considering the following partitions on a 1 GB disk:
partition a: 256 MB (secondary swap space)
partition g: leftover (scratch area or whatever)
But I was advised by someone to not make partition a the swap
partition because there is the possibility that the swap space,
which doesn't use a particular filesystem, could overwrite the
disklabel.
Could someone please clarify this? Is the disklabel ever in danger
of being overwritten in certain partition configurations? Should I
make the secondary swap space on partition b, and make a small
partition a? Does it matter?
Thanks in advance. -Dave Wolinski wolinski_at_umich.edu
