My sendmail problems are finally fixed (for real this time.)
Thanks to all the people who sent me messages...

I want to send special kudos to:
Andy Phillips <atp_at_mssly1.mssl.ucl.ac.uk>
"Paul E. Rockwell" <rockwell_at_rch.dec.com>
who finally got to the root of the problem. I decided not to upgrade our
sendmail at this point in time. As it turns out, there are several ways to
modify the sendmail.cf file to incorporate the changes that I needed.
Andy suggested changing the S12 ruleset and Pulak gave me a change for the
S1 ruleset. Both of those changes work fine, but when applied made no
difference for me becuase, as Paul pointed out, I had an aliased
spc.cc.tx.us to barney.spc.cc.tx.us, so everytime the ruleset would run to
concatonize the name to just domain, the alias would come into play and put
it back! I had it aliased in both the /etc/hosts and hosts.db files.
Thanks again for all the help!
