Problems with INN

I've got INN1.4unoff3 up and running on V3.2. All is well except when it
comes to expire. innd dies when running expire either by hand or out of
news.daily. No error messages are given and the expire doesn't error in
anyway. I made the changes recommended in the faq for an osf machine so
every other portion if inn works fine. Anyone else seen these troubles
and have a recommendation as to what the problem might be?
