Hi Everyone,
I recently upgraded my AlphaServer 2100 to DEC Unix 3.2c, and having a few
problem.
1) The "doconfig" doesnt recognize all available hardware installed, and
fail to build the kernel, I the had to manually insert those necessary
options.
2) The Xserver fail to startup, with blank screen, and I had a look in the
xdm-errors, and found:
BLT engine hung in pwgaDrawColorImage BUFFERWAIT; resetting...
BLT engine hung in pwgaResetBlt GLOBALWAIT; resetting...
BLT engine hung in pwgaResetBlt GLOBALWAIT; resetting...
BLT engine hung in pwgaResetBlt GLOBALWAIT; resetting...
error (pid 483): Hung in XOpenDisplay(:0), aborting
error (pid 483): server open failed for :0, giving up
error (pid 456): Display :0 cannot be opened
BLT engine hung in pwgaResetBlt GLOBALWAIT; resetting...
BLT engine hung in pwgaResetBlt GLOBALWAIT; resetting...
BLT engine hung in pwgaResetBlt GLOBALWAIT; resetting...

BTW, I have upgraded its firmware to v4.1 which came from the Firmware CD v3.3,
without any problem. At boot prompt level, it recognise all the installed
hardward.
Does anyone have any idea what may cause this problem ?
