Dear all,

Sorry to bother you all again so soon.

I have been looking into getting the dead alpha to boot over the network from
our live alpha. The man pages seem to imply that you use bootp and tftp and
away you go. The user manuals seem to imply that to do this you should use the
Remote Installation Service (RIS) and this requires a licence.

Can bootp/tftp be used without the OSF-SVR licence to boot a remote machine? Or
is the supplied RIS just a nicer interface to essentially the same stuff?

All help gratefully received.

John
