Q: What is 'fcntl: Local lock-manager' ???

Hello gurus,

I have an Alpha 3000/300 running OSF1 v3.0 that's suddenly started
pumping the message 'vmunix: fcntl: Local lock-manager not registered'
onto the console log and /var/adm/messages at about 15 minute intervals,
especially if no-one is logged in. It doesn't seem to have any effect on
the operation of the machine at all. Man pages seems to tie it in with
rpc.lockd and rpc.statd, which are network daemons, but 'Local lock-manager
not registered'? - what can that mean?

BTW, the machine is NFS mounting several filesystems, but not exporting any.

Anyone got any ideas what's going on? Any pointers gratefully received.
