Hi'

In the near future my company will purcase a new alpha server for the
administrative work in the company (what I understand often is called
a department sever).

The server will not be used for any development and will be expected
to run at all time. The server should serve

- 15-20 X window system users (mainly mail, news, WWW and a few other
  applications)

- 20-40 NFS users (developers working on other servers in the company)

- all company wide services like mail, news, DNS, NIS, DECdns, NSR and
WWW (FTP is put on an independent Linux machine).

What type of configuration would you say is needed for this server. (A
local estimate is a AlphaServer 600 5/333 with 256Mb storage and
12-16Gb disk).
