OSF 3.2 and CDE 1.0

Hi Folks,

I have been running into problems with CDE 1.0 running on
OSF 3.2B machines.

One problem is an X server that really grows like crazy.
In one case, it got as large as 85MB. In another case
it was the dtsession process that was large, more than 90MB.
In both of these cases we are talking about a single user machine
where the user does not log out nightly, more like monthly.

Is the only solution to add the -terminate option to
the Xservers file and tell them to log out?

Another annoying problem is that sometimes the dtsession
setups are saved on logout, and other times they are not
saved. In one case, a user spent about 45 minutes customizing
CDE only to have the defaults pop up when he logged in the
next day. (another reason why they don't log out often...)

When the logout button is clicked, it claims it is saving the
current session, and sometimes it does, some times it pops
up the system defaults when next you log in.

Are these common problems with CDE? I'm especially concerned
about the memory hogging done by the Xserver and by dtsession.

All comments are welcome and I'll post a summary.

Many Thanks,
-Austin
