"Correct" method of adding an IP alias to an interface

I've used the "ifconfig ln0 inet alias 138.247.32.13 netmask
255.255.252.0" command to add an additional IP address to my Alpha's
Ethernet interface (I'm running OSF/1 3.2). I want to make this
additional IP address permanent, so what would be the traditional
procedure?

I'm considering doing this procedure to have the alias added automatically
at startup:

rcmgr set NETDEV_1 "ln0"
rcmgr set IFCONFIG_1 "alias 138.247.32.13 netmask 255.255.252.0"
rcmgr set NUM_NETCONFIG "2"

If I'm missing something, or if there's a better way to do this, I'd
appreciate your suggestions!

Thanks,
Guy Helmer
