Assistance needed with Automounter on DU 3.2D

Hello all...

I'm having problems getting the automounter to work correctly on
DU 3.2D. I'm attempting to mount two directories from a DEC 3000
running OSF/1 2.1 to a AlphaStation 255 running DU 3.2D.

The directories mount fine using straight NFS mounts, as shown below:

/usr/local_at_odo  /nfs/local      nfs rw,bg 0 0
/usr/contrib_at_odo        /nfs/contrib    nfs rw,bg 0 0
----
But, using the automounter, I can't get the directories to mount.
The maps I'm using are shown below:
auto.master:

/-      auto.direct
auto.direct:
#
#  automount.direct
#
/nfs/local      -rw     odo:/usr/local
/nfs/contrib    -rw     odo:/usr/contrib
I followed the automounter setup using nfssetup.  When I cd to what
should be the mounted directory, nothing appears.  Am I missing
something obvious, or am I just missing something?
