Gurus:
We have a dUnix box with 3.2b and gnu PERL 5.002 installed. We are
attempting to use the SUID version of perl. Installing PERL went fine with
no errors and testing it was fine as well. The non-suid perl works as
expected. I have a test perl script set up:
-rwsr-xr-x 1 test users 10046 Jun 24 09:21 test.pl
As shown, it is set SUID to a valid user of: test.
Root can run the program sucessfully, but if any other user (even test)
tries to run it, the following error message is presented:
Can't do setuid
I have tried seting the owner of the file to root. Same error. I have
fiddled with the permissions and ownership of the suidperl program itself.
All to no avail.
Is dUnix refusing to run suidperl due to the suid bit set on the file?
Can a program be set only to suid to ROOT?
Basically, has anyone used SUIDPERL sucessfully on a dUnix box...
Thanks to everyone. I will Summarize.
