My original question is
I installed RIS and DMU on an Alpha system running DU4.0. The problem is
I don't know the boot command to boot a client either using RIS or DMU.
If I use the command 'boot ewa0', the DMU server takes over. Then is there
a boot command to let the client machine boot up using RIS server?
Many thanks to Dave Parker <djp_at_unx.dec.com>. Here is his answer.
You cannot have a client registered simultaneously to a RIS and DMU server nor
to two RIS or two DMU servers. The client makes a BOOTP request to perform a
network boot and both RIS and DMU use BOOTP. There is no way to indicate which
service or server you really want.
Thanks again, Dave...
