      Dear colleagues,
I have problems with ringing of my modem by means of "tip" (DU 3.2c)
When I type "tip"(using ttyd0) modem response me and I hear dialtone.
But the next step - passing of telephone number- is not executed.
I get message
  "can not synchronize
   call failed"
What does it mean?
I have modem Zyxel U-1496E V.32b/FAX/VOICE, that is, as far as I know,
 hayes-compatible.
That is why, I write "at=hayes" at my /etc/remote script.
("system:dv=/dev/ttyd0:pn=856:pa=none:at=hayes:du")
What I should write at "el", "ie", "oe" fields?
  When I type
   tip system1
where system1 is the same script, added by pointing of speed,
   "system1:dv=/dev/ttyd0:pn=856:pa=none:br#9600:at=hayes:du"
after dialtone and attempting to pass telephone number,
I get another kind of message, as follows:
 "read failed: Operation would block
  No carrier detected...
  call failed"
Take my sincere apologies for disturbing you. The most likely,
my questions are stupid, nevetheless, I have not knowledges or
quides to answer them.

    Sincerely, Dr. Iliya Trub,
