printing to LAT printer

Okay, I've done this a hundred times before (well, okay, I'm exaggerating
a little) but I can't get two printers rolling on a DECserver 900 with
LAT. The port is set up properly and it appears the a 'cat' to the
printer (in this case /dev/tty0G) works. However, when I start the queue
with lpc, I get this:

circ:
        printing enabled
lpc: connect: No such file or directory
        couldn't start daemon

The printcap entry has /dev/tty0G so that apparently isn't the device it's
looking for. I've tried stopping and restarting the queue and lpd,
deleting and re-creating the LAT port, and a few other things to no avail.
Any idea what the hangup is here? Thanks in advance.
