Hello,
Hope someone has some thoughts on this problem.
We are running Digital Unix 3.2c. We have a
application that uses remote printing to a
print server (Lantronix PS1) then to a TI8820
label printer. This label printer prints hundreds
a very small labels all day.
Every so often the printer stops printing and the
labels get queued up in unix. We have to power off/on
the Lantronix box, printer and issue a lpc: abort, restart, start
to get the printer going again.
Spoke with the Lantronix Tech guys and they indicate that
the problem may be related to the number of available
tcp/ip print sockets in the brand of unix we are running.
According the Lantronix, lpr may be trying to reuse print
sockets already in use and this may be causing the hang
condition in the printer.
Anyone know the number of available tcp/ip print sockets available
in osf 3.2c or encounter a similar problem?
