A range of (well 3) ideas/actions.
1) when doing the /usr/sbin/doconfig add the line
semmsl 35
(35 or whatever number is appropiate) to the config file
Some of the responses with this suggestion also mentioned adding;
shmmax and shmseg as well. I did not bother with these as ingres was reporting
shared memory use OK when booting, but barfing on the semaphores bit.
2) modify /usr/incluse/sys/param.h and
3) use /etc/sysconfig to set sem-msl
(I did not know about the command sysconfig, just about to look at it).
The first two messages (olvind.jacobsen & Ian.Martin) suggested option
(1) (as did some of the other respondents, but I got to read the others
after redoing the kernel), which I've just completed, and
ingres has now booted successfully.
