dxnotepad under Digital Unix

I am just migrating from Ultrix to Digital Unix, and I have noticed some
annoying feature changes in dxnotepad.

The version is DU 3.2 and the keyboard is an LK 461

1) accelerator code "prefix" changed

I was relying *a lot* on accelerators like Alt-S for Save, Alt-Q
for Quit, Ctrl-Z for Exit etc.
Most of them were actually the same I'm using for word processing
   on my Mac !

I have noticed that accelerators use now the Control key as prefix
instead of the Alt key as before.

I hoped I could remap the "Compose Character" key on my LK keyboard
to Control_L with xmodmap (I did something like that on Ultrix
when I got new keyboards with both Compose and Alt keys).
I am actually able to change the key (xev gives Control_L), but it
   does not work in dxnotepad.

(e.g. if I press the redefined Compose+X I get an X and not the cut
   function)

On the other hand the documentation on xmodmap, modifiers, keysim is
   rather obscure.

Q1 : DOES ANYBODY HAVE AN XMODMAP PROGRAM WHICH EFFECTIVELY REMAPS
THE COMPOSE KEY TO CONTROL FOR WHAT DXNOTEPAD IS CONCERNED ?

2) accelerator code suffix changed or missing

In the case of some accelerators, also the suffix is changed (e.g.
for Exit is now Control-E and not Control-Z), or there is no
   accelerator (e.g. Quit)

   Q2 :
Does anybody have a list of the X resources corresponding to
the accelerators (I could get them with editres the hard way, but
   a ready-to-go list would help) ?
It is not in man dxnotepad.

3) dxnotepad hangs

I have noticed that sometimes after a Save (control-S) dxnotepad
hangs. The file on disk appears to be written OK, but the titlebar
does not change (still says "modified") and the window freezes (if
I obscure it and free it it gets even blank)

I am not sure whether this is linked to hitting some of the wrong
keys perhaps after a wrong modmap or occurs even without them.

It is not a memory problem, the damn machine has 160 MB !

   Comments anyone ?
