After my last mail, I received several answers but none of them worked..
We still can't change passwd..
We use NIS,
Again some files:
/var/yp/src#>ls -l passwd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 107437 Oct 5 16:25 passwd
/var/yp/ege#>ls -l passwd.*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 4096 Oct 5 16:25 passwd.byname.dir
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 361472 Oct 5 16:25 passwd.byname.pag
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 4096 Oct 5 16:25 passwd.byuid.dir
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 509952 Oct 5 16:25 passwd.byuid.pag
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 0 Oct 5 16:25 passwd.time
and yppassswd is:
/bin#>ls -l yppasswd
-rwxr-xr-x 1 bin bin 24576 Jul 25 1995 yppasswd
I tried ,
cd /var/yp
touch src/passwd
make passwd
make is successful but couldn't change passwd.
Another thing to mention is that, when I make some changes in passwd file
(for example : change login shell of a user) , it works correctly. I mean
changes to passwd file is ok.
People can login to their accounts with their passwords without
any problems.
But the problem is in yppasswd.
Any other help is greatly appreciated.
It's an urgent situation..
