lock manager

Greetings,

When booting a DMU client (Alpha 3000/300LX), the following message
is logged:

Dec 12 18:07:31 alfco1 vmunix: fcntl: Local lock-manager not registered

Things that require lockf() then fail, ie, rebuilding sendmail's
aliases database.

The DMU server is running DU 4.0a, and the DMU client area is configured
with DU 4.0a.

The problem occurs both with genvmunix and a customized kernel built with
doconfig. Both kernels have

options UNIX_LOCKS

The server and client have NFSLOCKING="1" in their rc.config's.

Do I need to add rpc.statd and/or rpc.lockd to /etc/inetd.conf? If
so, can anyone tell whether a corresponding entry in /etc/services
for lockd would be needed?

Any other ideas on what's wrong?

Regards,

Patrick O'Brien
