moving the root partition to another disk

Hi --

In preparation for an OS upgrade, I would like to move the root
partition on one of my DU systems to a disk with more room on the a
partition.

I remember seeing a how-to article months ago in a DEC-published magazine
describing the steps necessary to do this. But now, of course, I
can't seem to find the article.

I can think of some obvious things (copying, changing /etc/fstab on the
new root partition, changing the default boot device in the
console monitor). But I'm concerned that I'm forgetting something
important.

Does anyone have a pointer to an on-line version of this article,
or (perhaps even better) has anyone kept track of what's necessary
to do this?
