First I would like to appologize for wasting bandwidth, but I think you
will all agree that it is necessary.
In the recent messages about how to modify Ethernet addresses, I replied
to Laurent Deniel with some code that he quoted in his summary. So that
there is no confusion, I will state now that the code was derived from
the "public domain" work, buy his own admisssion, of Michael Kline.
Mr Kline wrote to me to inquire about why my company claims a copyright
to the work. The reason is that, if you look closly, it is not the same
code, merly similar. Most businesses chose to protect their intelectual
property, mine is no different.
I am writing this letter to recognize that Mr Kline contributed the bulk
of the creative effort involved in the code in question. I did not have
his name available to credit him, and am doing so now.
I appologize if there was any confusion in this matter.
