Dear Gurus,
Sorry for being a pain in your neck, but I'm in a real mess.
Since I've upgraded to DU4.0B my VXT2000s don't boot. They start an endless loop of
MOP V3...
MOP V4...
IP...
but don't receive any answer from the host. (I, however, receive lots of answers
from the users....)
What I did was:
1) the /etc/bootptab file is as previously, as well as the /etc/hosts
2) the relevant lines in /etc/inetd.conf are:
ftp dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/tftpd tftpd /tftpboot /usr/lib/X11/ncd
bootps dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/joind joind
3) joind is effectively launched by inetd as shown by "ps"
4) joind writes one line of message in the join and daemon log files:
can't find interface which received packet
5) before going to DU4.0 I used bootpd instead of joind. At first I also tried bootpd
with no difference
6) I don't use dynamic IP addresses
Hence I did not modify anything in the config files of joind (nets, namepool, server.pcy)
Should I?
7) What I really don't understand is that my NCD tubes boot without any problem
8) after the installation of DU4.0B I performed a full install of the VXT software (2.1)
and everything proceeded smoothly
9) before DU4.0B the VXTs booted from an Infoserver. Hence I try to boot them with
>>> b/10000. For one of them I resetted the NVRAM to the factory defaults.
No difference.
I'm really stumped. Would you have any hint, any guess of where I should fumble?
Have I forgotten to create or modify some stupid and trivial file?
