The answer basically was the same. I will quote Dr. Thomas P. Blinn
answer:
The answer to your question is that there is no parameter you can change
that will impact
the read/write block size of the AdvFS file system. If there were any
such parameter and you did change it, we would not support your system
and when you lost all your data (as you almost certainly would, because
we don't test the file system code with varying read/write block sizes)
you would be told that your system is unsupported.
Lars Bro suggest :
There are two ways to make things run fast. Use an internal RAID
controller such
as the Mylex. It can be configured to any 'chunksize'. Or use a set of
disks on
different SCSI controllers and stripe those together by LSM. By the way,
if you
have a few files that need a good performance, the files can be striped
in
advfs.
Chris Jankowski. replayed :
The "Chunk size" term came from his is a parameter used and
configurable on Digital's storage array controllers like HSZ40, HSZ50
and HSZ70.
