I have a POP3 security question...
Our NetWare mostly site has a Milkyway Networks Black Hole firewall,
Pegasus Mail for DOS & Windows and PMail's Mercury.NLM.
We are wanting to provide "outside" access to mail using PMail's
POP3 NLM.
The problem is that each person tends to have their own ISP, and
we are an international consulting engineering firm, so from a
practical perspective we would have to open up our email to all
external addresses.
I have been asked to investigate the security consequences of doing
this. Specifically are there known POP3 security holes or inherent
weaknesses in the POP3 protocol? Where would I go to learn more
about POP3 security?
Direct replies to: mailto:floyd_at_direct.ca would be appreciated
as I don't know how to subscribe to this list...just found it via
an Altavista search.
Many thanks in advance,
