Dear managers,
I have a problem with sound card on DEC Personal Alpha Station au500.
It was received with a preinstalled software, but without MME. I installed
mme services from the special CD ROM received with station, Multimedia
Services V2.3. After kernel recompilation and reboot the card revived with
following in /var/adm/messages:
Dec 14 11:57:29 etoile vmunix: mmsessprobe: IRQ channel = 5
Dec 14 11:57:29 etoile vmunix: mmsess0: Only one DMA channel assignment
found
Dec 14 11:57:29 etoile vmunix: mmsess0: Arbitrarily assigning DMA channel
5 to output
Dec 14 11:57:29 etoile vmunix: mmsess0 at isa0
Dec 14 11:57:29 etoile vmunix: mmsess sound driver V4.0 configured
All audio applications worked until next reboot.
Now the system gives the following during reboot or mmeserver restarting:
Dec 18 18:51:45 etoile vmunix: mmsessprobe: IRQ channel = 5
Dec 18 18:51:46 etoile vmunix: mmsessprobe: unable to reset mmsess sound
Dec 18 20:38:57 etoile vmunix: mmsessprobe: Error: controller number out
of range
And audio applications didn't work at all.
The OS is 4.0c with patch kit #3 installed.
I will be appreciated for any suggestion. Of course I'll summarize.
TIA,
Eugene
