Original Problem:
A Seagate 23GB drive crashed, and we were unsure if it was a hardware
of software error.

Thanks to:

"John Speno" <speno_at_isc.upenn.edu>
"Fred Senese" <senese_at_antoine.fsu.umd.edu>

for their prompt answers. The consensus seems to be that the problem is
with the hardware. Most answers seemed to think the problem was that the
disk did not spin up properly.

Alan also suggested that the output of the scu(8) command would provide more
details about where the problem lies exactly.

Thanks guys, you are excellent!
