Hallo,
once again a calling for help.
My workstation : AlphaStation 200/166 DU 4.0B lost nearly all network-connectivity
It isnīt completly an island, but very often the connection is interrupted with
time out. Otherwise itīs during minutes to connect.
I tried to reboot the machine (it is possible, because it`s my personal workstation)
For the first time it ends with a panic dump during startup :
where to start afs, there is the message :
alpha PC machine check type 0x670
machine check abort
retry =0x0
mchk_code =0x92
paltemp[1] =0x270b
paltemp[2] =
.
.
.
and so on
after the core dump the machine restarts with single user mode
the message file says :
machine check- hardware error
after some tries in single user the machine starts again in multi-user,
but isnīt usable :
nearly ten tries for the CDE-login
no connection to the machine from other machines in the network.
but after minutes connections from this machine to the network,
interrupted with timeout.
Once again, I donīt know what I could do.
It seems to be a hardware error.
is there a possibility to check the network interface with console commands ?
or in single user mode ?
thanks for every idea
