I have a system running DU 4.0.
My log files in syslog.dated are rolling over at 10:15. So yesterday's
log
files, in the directory 25-Nov-10:15, contain entries generated from
10:15
yesterday morning to 10:14 this morning.
I looked in the crontab file and I didn't see anything running daily at
10:15.
Is there any way to force my log files to align on a day boundry (from
0:00
to 23:59)?
Is there any way I can have the daily directories in syslog.dated named
something that is more meaningful to me (say, 19981125)?
In addition to syslog.dated, my system also has an empty syslog
directory.
Is it safe for me to go ahead and delete that?
Thanks for the help,
Jon
