SUMMARY : accessing DNS secondary

I have received only two answers to my query below (thanks to Massimo Ianigro
and Irene A. Shilikhina), and had some look on the man pages.

The time-out and number of retries between queries to a given nameserver is a
resolver matter. It could in principle be configured in an include file
resolv.h for the resolver library ... but this implies rebuilding the resolver
library. THERE IS NO *RUNTIME* OPTION TO SET.

(in my case the solution is not viable, too many machines to do).
