hello managers
i replaced a disk (rz28) with a seagate disk in an AS 200 running du4.0b
this morning.
i booted up the machine and first i edited the disklabel by
disklabel -e /dev/rrz1c rz28
made 3 partions (a 4.2bsd 0-164,b swap 164-718,c 4.2bsd 718-2569) as i need
to make this disk look like the root disk. as the root disk is sick so i
want to copy all the stuff from the root disk to this new disk.
next i made two directories /mntroot and /mntusr i added these to the
/etc/fstab file i.e. a&g not swap.
tried to mount using
mount -t ufs /dev/rrz1a /mntroot
this said invalid filesystem so i rebooted the machine.
now on boot up
it sas
/dev/rrz1a : /dev/rrz1a BAD SUPER BLOCK : MAGIC NNUMBER WRONG
/dev/rrz1a UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY,run fsck manually

i ran fsck manually and it comes back with the error BAD SUPER BLOCK : MAGIC
NNUMBER WRONG
so what do i do
i am in single user mode and i am unable to edit the /etc/fstab file,
and even if i could it is read only,
how do i edit fstab from here and make it writable and what then
TIA
