Hi all,

Here's my original posting:

Hi managers,
Does DUnix 3.2G support "long long" data types? What about 4.0B?
I ask because I use the Amanda backup software. I would like to apply
the Amanda patch that allows you to back up file systems larger than 2
gigs, but in order for this to work, the OS has to support "long long"
data types.
Thanks in advance,

On other OS's, the "long long" data type is 64 bit. With DU, the 64 bit
data type is simply called "long". Other types are "short" (16 bit) and
"int" (32 bit).
Just for the heck of it I added a 7 gig file system to my backup list.
It failed, as I suspected it would.
I am probably going to have to edit the amanda source code to replace
all instances of "long long" with "long" and recompile in order for this
to work. Before I attempt this I'm going to post a follow up question
about patching the amanda backup software.
As always, thanks for all your help!
