addvol/rmvol

Does anyone know if you can use addvol and rmvol to effectively move a
file domain onto a disk partition which contains its current disk
partition?

I have a disk with partition h unused. f is in use, and lies within h.
I would like to move the domain from f to h (the disk has unused
sections currently). Would

addvol /dev/rz8h domain
rmvol /dev/rz8f domain

work? Can I at least be assured that it would warn me before
destroying any information from the domain?

Thanks in advance.
