All others suggested issuing a command like:
xhost +localhost
or
xhost+my.machine.my.domain:0.0


Somebody quickly solved the problem by rebooting the system. So I
haven't tried the hints yet. But I still wonder why "a dtterm previously
started still alive" as I mentioned in my question. One thing I
neglected was that someone was configuring Netscape FastTrack Server at
the display console. Was it relevant?
