The response to my question was super! I followed the instructions that
you all gave me and it worked! Now I move on to my next goal: allowing
our PCs (running MS Network from Windows 95) to access certain drives or
partions on the AlphaStation 200 which has a network card and is
connected to the network. I would like PC users in our office to be
able to go to their 'Network Neighborhood' and see my UNIX box.
My question is, what is the best way to do this? From what I understand
I have two choices: DecNet or TCP/IP. What do you all recommend on how
to proceed? Would a four day course in TCP/IP be helpfull or overkill?
Thank You

I found Sheryl A. Campbell's email regarding her problems installing a
new rz29. I thought that the problems I am having might be related.
Then again maybe I don't know what I am doing. My knowledge of UNIX and
my experience in maintaining the system are very limited.
I have an AlphaStation 200, 4/166 running DEC UNIX v4.0B. This system
has two drives already installed internally (RZ29LB and a RZ26) which
are both connected to the same SCSI controller. We recently purchased a
Storage Works box holding a RZ29L-AS. This is connected to a second
SCSI controller installed in the AlphaStation. Like Sheryl's situation,
the new controller and drive are recognized at the console level. I am
not sure what to do next though. Is my next step to run 'MAKEDEV', and
then 'disklabel'? I have some manuals in front of me, but after
performing an upgrade to v4.0B I can't get my MAN pages to run either.
I guess what I am looking for is an explicit step by step guide for
installing and configuring this drive, to include the partition and
mounting process. We don't have a UNIX support contract thanks to my
boss, so I am really alone. Help!
