     Need to configure a modem on 2100 and 8400. Looked at doc and have
     questions.

     How does one identify the serial device on the 2100 and 8400? There
     is no ttax device in uerf or no serial device shown with scu> show edt
     command. There is physically a serial port with a printer icon on it
     next to two 15 pin connectors in the 2100. My guess is that I could
     use this DB25 pin for modem communications. Now I need to identify
     the device.

     The doc explains to connect a PPP via modem do the following:

     1) copy entry for modem into /etc/acucap {Is there a location where I
     can find examples on this config per modem type ?}

     2) create entry in /etc/remote for the calling system.

     3) edit inittab file add following -
        modem:23:off:/usr/sbin/getty /dev/tty00 m38400 vt100 { for a 38400
     baud modem. How does one map the tty00 device to the serial port? If
     I had LAT setup I would use something like latcp -A -p ttyXX -H
     servername -R PORT_1 but I'm not using LAT. Is there a similar
     command to use?}

     4) Use tip to communicate with modem.

     Helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

     Thanks,
