Hello all,
We are currently running a TruCluster environment, two 8400's into a
StorageWorks box. We have also installed a Memory Channel into each machine
so that we can run an Oracle Parrallel server solution in the future.
Everything else is in place (ASE manager is set up, IP addresses for both
cards are OK) except I am still getting one error when I run the drd_dma -v
utility to test the ability for the memory channels to be able to share the
data on each server (in this case the Oracle instances) between the two
8400's. The error message I am getting is this:
No peer to peer DMA, because 'scsi1' is in slot 10 on bus 'pci0' and
'mchan0' is in slot 5 on 'pci0'
No peer to peer DMA, because 'psiop0' is a scsi bus driver without cluster
support
MEMORY CHANNEL Controllers: 1
Cluster scsi Controllers : 2
There are 2 configuration problems making peer to peer DMA over MEMORY
CHANNEL impossible
drd_dma: Peer-to-peer DMA is NOT sure to work between scsi and MEMORY
CHANNEL controllers
drd_dma: Peer-to-peer DMA over MEMORY CHANNEL is NOT enabled
Has anyone seen this error message before or has anyone had a similar
experience with Memory Channels? And how would one enable DMA over memory
channel? The instructions are not quite clear.
Thank you in advance for any help!
Sincerely,
