They are indeed USB ports. They are not supported by V4.0D or V4.0E; there
will be SOME support in V4.0F, but to the best of my knowledge, no one has
tested any USB "disk" devices with Digital UNIX or any systems, and to the
best of my knowledge there are NO PLANS to provide any "disk class" device
support for USB.

If you need external SCSI, you either bought the wrong system (since as far as
know there are NO supported external SCSI interfaces for that system), or you
need to purchase an optional external SCSI interface and configure it.

Have fun.. I don't design these systems, and if you review the archives, you
will see that people have had no end of frustration with the "Personal" series
and external SCSI attachment.

Minimal support for USB hardware was added with DU 4.0E -- check the
release notes for 4.0E for (slightly) more information.

BTW - The external SCSI ports on the PWs are generally useless, the
UW-SCSI cards have fixed terminators. Meaning that you can use the
internal connector or the external connector, but not both.
