umask ignored

Hi,

One of my users is having a problem which has me stumped. All files in his
account are created with mode 700. He has umask 022 in his .cshrc. When
he logs in and types umask, it displays the mask as 022. C2 security is
installed. Other users seem fine. Is there some setting in C2 which
overrides the umask?

I just did another test. It seems the problem is confined to his home
directory. When he creates a file in /tmp, the mode is correct.

% cd
% ls -ld .
drwx--x--x 5 dunnlt students 8192 Jan 28 10:25 .
% mkdir .www
% ls -lad .www
drwx------ 2 dunnlt students 8192 Jan 28 10:25 .www
% umask
22
% cd /tmp
% mkdir delme
% ls -ld delme
drwxr-xr-x 2 dunnlt system 8192 Jan 28 10:26 delme

The machine is an AlphaServer running DU4.0D patch #2.
