I have the following disk layout in the rootdg group, with /, /usr, and
/var mirrored across two disks:
Advfs is being used so I have root_doain#root, usr_domain#usr, and
var_domain#var
Mount Point Volume Name Plex Name Subdisk Name
/ rootvol rootlvol-01 rz8a-01p
                                                                                                                rz8a-01
                                                                                rootvol-02 rz9a-01p
                                                                                                                rz9a-01
                                        swapvol swapvol-01 rz8b-01
                                                                                swapvol-02 rz9b-01
/usr vol-rz8g vol-rz8g-01 rz8g-01
                                                                                vol-rz8g-02 rz9g-01
/var vol-rz8h vol-rz8h-01 rz8h-01
                                                                                vol-rz9h-02 rz9h-01
As you can see, / is on partition a, swap on b, /usr on g, and /var on h.
This works fine, but I realize now that I have much more space allocated on
/var than I need, and not enough on /usr.
How would one ( I ) "shrink" the space allocated to the /var partition, and
"expand" the space allocated to /usr?
I would like not to do a vdump, repartition, rebuild LSM, vrestore, etc.
It seems to me that the volassist shrinkby command would not work here.
Does anyone have any better suggestions??
I will summarize
Regards,
Sam
