Hello Managers,
I have gotten many responses to this problem and I want to express my thanks
to all of you who have offered suggestions!
I have verified the following:
1. The remote host is in the 8200's /etc/host file
2. I have executed the telnet command to the 8200 by both NAME and IP
ADDRESS and there is no change, about 80 seconds before receiving the login
prompt.
3. I can ping the 8200 by NAME from the remote host (NT40) and get the name
resolved to an IP in about 1 second.
4. I can ping the remote NT40 host by name from the 8200 and get the name
resolved to an IP in about 1 second.
5. Once I have logged in from the remote host things work as expected.
What am I missing?
Thanks again,
Paul D. Hoyle
