SUMMARY Strange License Problem With XP1000 Workstations

     Folks-

     Thanks to Jim Fitzmaurice, Serguei Patchkovski, Graham Allan,
and Paul N. Youngblood, as well as Dr. Tom Blinn and Joe Mario of
Digital/Compaq for their quick replies. Joe Mario replied with
the official Digital/Compaq answer for the problem, and I've
included it below along with the original question.
