I've had similar experiences with Netscape Support. In fact, until I proved to them that their
web site states that DU 4.0D and 4.0E are supported they didn't believe me. Check out:
http://home.netscape.com/servers/pricing/availability.html for their list of supported platforms and
let Technical Support know that they do, indeed, support DU4.0 D & E.
Right now, I am experiencing a problem with mixed-up CGI output (where the output from a
browser's CGI call is sent to the wrong browser). This happens on DU4.0D with Netscape
Enterprise Server 3.61 (the latest Service Pack from the Netscape site) with a large amount of
CGI calls (300+ CGI calls per minute) . I haven't yet had the opportunity to replicate the problem
and I haven't tried other versions of DU (although I expect the problem would still exist), however I
would be very interested in hearing if other people are experiencing similar problems.

I'm trying to run Netscape Enterprise server version 3.5.1 or 3.6 under
Digital UNIX 4.0E. It works fine EXCEPT I can't build a collection for
searching; it fails with the error

File System Error: default non-existent. Cannot index documents.

The system returned error number 2, which is unknown early startup
        error.

I've spoken with Netscape and they were initially willing to try to help
but that was weeks ago and subsequent attempts to contact my person have
gone unanswered. Their initial response was that they don't support any
version of Digital UNIX newer than 4.0B! C'mon, we need to keep up-to-date
on our end but Netscape's lagging behind in a big way. We'd like to update
our main UNIX box to 4.0D or E but we don't want to blow away the search
capabilities of the primary web server.

Has anyone else seen (or better yet solved) this problem? Other than the
collection aspect, the server's running fine. Thanks.
